ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE

SIMPLE MOVES, Three choreographies performed by Jens Bjerregaard
Choreographed by: Jou Odoru (JP), Maura Morales (CU), Jens Bjerregaard
Visual Artist: Naoko Tanako (JP)
Artistic Consultant: Geoliane Arab (LB)

Although rather metaphysical, the concept and movement composition of “Simple Moves” are of a biographical origin.Three collaborating artists were invited, each with one part of the performance. The collaborations reflect on important turning points in the life of Bjerregaard. They each bring a different angle to the work and challenge the dancer with new [Simple] moves. The encounter with the audience thus becomes not only with the dancer but also with the person.

Words from the Press:
“The body, some light and a few shadows were more than enough to slowly and wisely unveil the layers of the performer’s history, and reconstruct it again and again”
Mazen Maarouf, Annahar Newspaper (LB)

“Simple Moves” has since its premiere in 2010 been performed in Hungary, Poland, Denmark, Japan, Singapore, Tanzania, Canada, Cameroon and Lebanon.

The Performance is supported by the the Danish Arts Council and The Danish Institute in Damascus.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
