Autumn 2010 promises to be an exciting one here for us at Chisenhale Dance Space. We have not one, not two, but THREE amazing choreographers inviting professional level artists to join them in exploring their artistic visions and ideas.
Professional classes will be returning to Chisenhale in September with Jean Abreu Dance and Melody Squire & Sols Dance Company.
Mondays: 6.30pm - 8.00pm
Professional Level Dance Technique with Jean Abreu Dance
Launch Day Monday 20th September 2010: 6.30pm - 9.00pm
Jean Abreu and company will be teaching weekly classes offering dancers the opportunity to hone their skills whilst exploring the expressive movement vocabulary Jean Abreu Dance has been developing for the past 6 years. Jean merges dance styles including Capoeira, Latin Dance, Urban Street with Contemporary Dance.
Tuesdays: 6.45pm - 8.30pm
Advanced Contemporary Jazz Dance with Melody Squire
Launch Day Tuesday 21st September 2010: 6.45pm - 9.00pm
Challenging weekly drop-in classes for advanced/ professional level dancers. These classes will increase core stability, strength and flexibility and combine energetic American jazz with expressive contemporary/ lyrical dance.
To celebrate our NEW Professional and Advanced Level classes we will be launching with a One Day Intensive: Physical Extremes with Athina Vahla on Sunday 19th September 11.00am – 4.00pm:
The one day workshop is suitable for professional / advanced level movement artists with no limits and open minds! Participants will explore their physicality through creative choreographic tasks and improvised themes, challenging their usual boundaries and how they use energy to unlock potential and apply this in composition.
Not to mention both Jean Abreu and Melody Squire will be holding extended classes during the first week!
