Masters in Art and Design majoring in dance and video by Mike Baker. For more of my dancevideo work, please search under RolloKohime in YouTube. I am privileged to be collaborating in this video clip with the Vancouver BC musician and composer, Chris Coon. The updated title for this video clip reflects the edited excerpts from Chris`s recent album, 'Odysseus Gates'. After discussion and exploration we were pleased to be able to align our thinking and empathy toward a joint investigation into the concept of 'odyssey' and the indeterminacy behind 'leaving'. In this work, I am investigating how our connections, meetings and engagements in the city (and indeed, our lives) are governed by indeterminacy through change - that we are always leaving - drawn away to the next engagement which itself holds the seeds of the next departure. This project has become a study of 'Leaving' as an event and how this lends a poignancy and pathos to our dealings with others.
