Silimbo West African Dance Company (rehearsal with new material: "Manjani"), July 25, 2009

Fatou N'Diaye Davis is founder and director for Silimbo, a Cambride-based (mostly) Senegalese company. We perform authentic dances that tell stories about real life (many historic) events, and everyday happenings. Dance, music and song is integrated, with full audience participation distinguishing African performances from those of the typical, Western "proscenium" stage.

Dancing in the Light

Latest "Dancing in the Light" multi-media performance was held at Berklee College of Music on July 27th, 2009. Randy Felts, Ricardo Monzon and Lisa Leake swirled, swooned and side-winded inter-kinetic energy on stage, as Randy twisted things up a bit through the fusion of his "synthophone" with melodies, harmonies, multi-percussion, off-beats and sound bites, plus Lisa Leake's gyrations (from numerous dance genre).
