Shannon McMullen is a jointly appointed Assistant Professor in the Electronic and Time-Based Art Program in the School of Visual and Performing Arts and in American Studies at Purdue University. She received a PhD in sociology from the University of California, San Diego in 2007.
Based on her fieldwork experience and dissertation writing in the areas of visual and material culture, Shannon has developed a creative practice that combines social inquiry and artistic strategies. Her current research interests and creative endeavors focus on relations between nature and technology, the creation of installations and artifacts to produce temporary social spaces, and engagement with public visual cultures. Collaboration and interdisciplinarity shape her research and practice.
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
