I am a member of ÇATI, Contemporary Dance Artists Association and an Executive Board Member of SEV- Health and Education Foundation in Istanbul, Turkey.

I graduated from Sociology Department of Bosphorous University and completed my masters at the same department. I worked in Media & Publishing and Advertising as a creative writer for several years and set back for focusing on movement and dance.

All through my education in contemporary dance and other somatic disciplines I worked predominantly on yoga (with Uma Jyoti, Helen Noaks, Eric Powell); on improvisation (with Kirstie Simson, Daniel Lepkoff, Julyen Hamilton, Simone Forti, John Britton) and on contact improvisation (with Alicia Grayson, Malcolm Manning, Nancy Stark Smith).

In the summer of 2007, I attended Impulstanz – Vienna International Dance Festival with DanceWEB Europe Schollarship where I worked with Georg Blaschke (physical theatre), Inaki Azpillaga (partnering), Marion Ballester (creation), Andrew Harwood (improvisation), Janet Panetta (ballet), Adedayo Liadi (african dance), Roseanne Spradlin (nervous system in movement), Frey Faust (axis-syllabus), Keith Hennessy (improvisation), David Zambrano (flying low), Karine Label (afro-haitian dance) and Philippe Riera (performance) under the mentoring of Jonathan Burrows and Adrian Heathfield.

I have been in the organization team of TRANSIT Festival for the last 3 editions and the initial edition of iDANS Festival.

Recently I follow a 4 year certificate program on “Art Therapy and Creativity” with Ass.Prof.Dr. Nevin Eracar. I also assist Prof. Aydın Teker in her “Experiential Anatomy” and “Composition” classes in the Modern Dance Branch of State Conservatory, getting ready to start my own PhD research. I am interested in “psychosomatic processes in the lives of performers” and “art as a therapeutic medium in healing psychosomatic disorders”.

I have just completed my Massage Therapy course and received my certificate on “Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Massage and Reflexology.

Today, besides creating my own performances, I also work as an artistic advisor, assisting individual artists and companies in their creative processes.

In addition to all this, I pursue my development as a pedagogue in ÇATI- Contemporary Dance Artists Association in Istanbul, where I give psychosomatic awareness, improvisation and composition classes and conduct contact improvisation jam sessions.
