Located in the historic St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery, Danspace shares its facility with the Church, The Poetry Project, and Richard Foreman's Ontological Hysteric Theater. Danspace Project's Commissioning Initiative has commissioned 360 new works since its inception in 1994. Through the Danspace@ program, Danspace Project commissions artists making work for alternative spaces including The Chocolate Factory, Abrons Art Center, the Center for Performance Research, the New Museum, and Baryshnikov Arts Center.
