Irish Ritual Landscape & Panoramas

Newly-discovered large scale works of seasonal ritual and terrain-based reverence... presented in panoramic images (with details).

Some of these rituals and patterns... of circling sacred places and wells, climbing energeticly-charged hills, offering gifts in genuine thanks to invisible presences, purifying cattle (driven between fires), bonfire-building and tending, bull and goat sacrifice, hermetic solitude in segregated communities of men and of women, dancing ecstatic visions, singing inspired poems, and gathering by the thousands for Sun and sky-watching... continued for thousands of years until discontinued just recently (the 1840's or even, some cases, the 1950's).

A movement is afoot to renew some of these rituals... a slow process which has been undertaken since 2002. The places and patterns etched in the landscape since ancient times are still there, and remember.

Patterns of reverent motion... repeated over thousands of years... re-seal themselves in association. Time leaps time, each footstep is joined to all the others. The land listens - rejoices - responds.
