Event Description

Manhattan Movement & Arts Center in association with Artists Collaborating Together with additional support from Broadway Dance Center presents Broadway’s Dancing Divas. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased at www.manhattanmovement.com.

As part of the ongoing series Monday’s at the Movement, a new and innovative theater arts series that brings you up close and personal with the New York theater community’s most celebrated artists, 15 female Broadway veterans will participate in a panel discussion.  Broadway’s Dancing Divas will speak candidly about their careers and lives before, during, and after Broadway, their highs and lows, and will discuss the entertainment business from a woman’s point of view.

Scheduled to appear:

Stephanie Pope-Caffey (Fosse), Caitlin Carter (Chicago), Lorna Ventura (Wicked), Michelle Robinson (Black and Blue), Maria Torres (Swing), Deb Leamy (Fosse), Mary McCleod (Damn Yankees), Carolyn Doherty (Movin’ Out), Allyson Tucker-Mitchell (Ragtime), Rosa Curry (Jelly’s Last Jam), JoAnn Hunter (Kiss Me Kate) and Renee Monique Brown (The Color Purple), Karine Plantadit (Come Fly with Me).

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
